Privacy Policy

Your adventure happens on your iPhone. Here is what stays there, what online services receive, and how to reach us.

Effective 22 September 2026 · Applies to Gut Rush and this website

Service availability: Gut Rush 1.0 (8) is available on the App Store with the advertising and purchase integrations described below. Version 1.1 (9) adds Firebase analytics and crash diagnostics; these services are not included in 1.0 (8). Availability depends on your installed version. App Store purchases use Apple’s payment system; TestFlight purchases use Apple’s sandbox and do not charge real money. Ad delivery depends on Google’s app approval and availability, so an enabled integration may return no ads. All stages and difficulty modes remain playable without buying.

1. Who is responsible?

Gut Rush is developed and operated by Tomás Ruiz López (“we”, “us”). For questions about privacy or requests about personal information we hold, email truizlop@gmail.com. We are responsible for the personal information we process to provide the game, this website and support. Apple, GitHub and other providers also have their own responsibilities for the services they operate.

2. What the game stores

Gut Rush stores your stage progress, scores, stars, achievements, selected difficulty, audio preferences and haptic settings locally on your device. These records make progression and preferences work. We do not operate a Gut Rush account system or a server that receives your ordinary gameplay save.

The game does not request access to your contacts, photos, microphone, camera, precise location or health records. Its digestive-system theme does not involve collecting health information. We do not sell personal information. Version 1.1 adds the analytics and crash diagnostics described below.

Deleting the app removes its local app data; an existing device backup may retain a copy or restore it later. Local saves are separate from any achievements or scores already sent to Game Center. Removing the app does not cancel an Apple subscription.

3. Apple services and beta testing

Game Center

When you connect to Game Center, Apple authenticates your player account. The app can display your Game Center name and submit your total score and earned achievements. Leaderboards and your Apple settings determine what others can see. You can play without connecting; the app saves your progress locally. See Apple’s Game Center privacy information for Apple’s handling of player information and controls.

TestFlight and diagnostics

Apple processes information associated with beta invitations, installations, crashes and usage through TestFlight, and may make beta-testing diagnostics available to us. If you send beta feedback, we receive the feedback and any screenshots or contact information included. Apple’s diagnostic sharing also depends on your device settings. See TestFlight & Privacy. Please avoid including personal or sensitive information in screenshots.

4. Optional advertising

Advertising is enabled from build 1.0 (8), subject to Google’s app approval and ad availability. In enabled builds, Gut Rush requests non-personalized interstitial ads through Google AdMob with child-directed treatment and under-age consent treatment. Ads may appear after a completed or failed run, never during active play. Verified Remove Ads access suppresses these interstitials. We do not request Apple’s advertising tracking permission or use personalized advertising. Ad privacy choices appear in Settings when Google’s consent system requires them.

Non-personalized does not mean that no data is processed. With advertising enabled, Google may process IP addresses and approximate location, app or device identifiers, ad impressions and interactions, and crash, performance and diagnostic information for ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention and service operation. See Google’s SDK data disclosure and Google’s Privacy Policy. This policy describes the enabled configuration; we obtain any permissions required for that use.

5. Optional purchases

Remove Ads purchases are enabled from build 1.0 (8). TestFlight transactions use Apple’s sandbox without real charges. In purchase-enabled builds, Apple handles payment, and RevenueCat validates transactions and maintains access. That processing includes an anonymous app user identifier, purchase receipts and transaction identifiers, product and subscription status, and technical information such as the app version, device type and operating system. An anonymous identifier is still a persistent identifier; it does not make transaction records anonymous in every context.

We do not receive your complete payment-card details. The integration does not intentionally send RevenueCat your name or email address and disables its automatic device-identifier collection option. Purchase records are used to provide and restore access, prevent fraud, support purchases and produce aggregate purchase analytics when the service is enabled. We do not connect purchase records to Game Center. Purchases do not gate ordinary gameplay. See RevenueCat’s privacy information. The purchase screen shows the available plans and Apple’s localized prices before confirmation.

6. Analytics and crash diagnostics in version 1.1

Starting with version 1.1 (9), Gut Rush uses Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics to understand game usage and diagnose crashes. Earlier version 1.0 (8) does not include these services. Analytics records app usage and game events such as chapter, difficulty, whether a run succeeds, and score. It also automatically measures purchase and subscription events, including product identifiers and prices, without receiving your payment-card details. Firebase processes app-instance or installation identifiers, app and operating-system information, device characteristics and event timestamps. Google Analytics derives approximate location from network information; the app does not request location access.

Crashlytics processes crash reports, stack traces, device and operating-system details, and recent app events. We attach chapter, difficulty and run-state context to help reproduce problems. We do not send your name, email address, Game Center identity or purchase-account identity to Firebase. We do not upload your complete local gameplay save.

The Firebase Analytics integration excludes advertising-identifier (IDFA) support, disables IDFV collection and automatic screen reporting, and denies advertising storage, ad user data and ad personalization. These settings do not mean that no identifiers or diagnostics are collected. Advertising and purchase services are described separately above. Google processes Firebase data to provide analytics and crash-reporting services; see Firebase privacy and security information and Google’s Privacy Policy.

Firebase collection is enabled in the 1.1 release and has no separate in-game switch. Apple’s diagnostic-sharing control does not disable Firebase. You can contact us using the privacy-request address below for questions or requests about data we control. Provider retention and deletion rules apply to the records each service controls.

7. This website and support

This website does not set analytics or advertising cookies, use tracking pixels, or include third-party video embeds. Its fonts, illustrations and gameplay videos are served with the site. The website does not store your browsing choices in local storage.

GitHub Pages hosts the site. GitHub states that visitors’ IP addresses are logged and stored for security purposes, including when visitors are not signed in. See GitHub Pages data collection and GitHub’s Privacy Statement.

If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send. Our email provider processes those messages to deliver and store correspondence. We use them to answer questions, troubleshoot issues and handle privacy requests. Please send only the information needed for your request. External links open services with their own privacy practices.

8. Purposes, retention and international processing

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we process support correspondence as necessary to respond to your request or provide the service, and on our legitimate interest in maintaining and securing the game. We may retain relevant records to comply with legal obligations or resolve a dispute. Where consent is required for an optional activity, we will ask for it and provide a way to withdraw it.

Local progress remains until you remove the app’s data, subject to your device backup settings. We keep correspondence only as long as reasonably needed to handle the request and related follow-up or legal obligations. Service providers apply their own retention rules to the records they control. You can ask us about, or request deletion of, information we hold about you.

Apple, Google/Firebase, RevenueCat, GitHub and our email provider may process information in countries other than your own. Their notices explain their locations and safeguards. For transfers we are responsible for, we use the safeguards required by applicable law, such as an adequacy decision or appropriate contractual protections. Contact us for information about a transfer concerning your data.

9. Your choices and rights

You can use the game without connecting to Game Center, control Apple diagnostic sharing through device settings, and contact us about information you have sent. For information controlled by Apple or GitHub, their privacy tools may be the appropriate way to make a request.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct or erase personal information, restrict or object to processing, receive portable information, and withdraw consent. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. These rights can be subject to legal conditions. Email truizlop@gmail.com; we may ask for enough information to verify the request without collecting unnecessary data. For an overview of EU rights, see the European Commission’s information for individuals.

10. Children and families

Gut Rush is designed with children and teens in mind. It has no in-game chat, user profiles or user-uploaded content, and does not ask players for their real name, age or contact details. Parents and guardians can manage Game Center, purchases and other Apple features using their device and family settings.

We do not intentionally ask children to provide personal information to us. A parent or guardian should handle support messages for a child. If you believe a child has sent personal information that should not be held, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate. Build 1.0 (7) has advertising and purchases disabled; build 1.0 (8) and later enable both integrations. Version 1.1 also includes the limited analytics and crash diagnostics described in section 6, without sending your Game Center or purchase-account identity to Firebase or enabling personalized advertising. In enabled builds, the advertising integration applies child-directed and under-age treatment to all players, and does not request advertising tracking permission. Apple’s family and Ask to Buy controls govern eligible purchase approvals.

11. Changes

We will update the effective date when this policy changes and provide additional notice in the app or through the service when required. Material changes to data handling, including activation of analytics, advertising or purchases, will be described before they take effect.
